North Port is a rapidly-growing municipality containing large-scale residential subdivisions along with an extensive network of streets with single-family homes. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 75.5 square miles, of which 74.8 square miles are land and 0.8 square miles (1.02%) is water. There is one library already located in North Port on the north side of the city. The new Suncoast Library at Toledo Blade will serve the many families and growing population located on the southeast side of the City of North Port as well as providing a dynamic resource for the entire city. As of 2015, there were 61,108 people, 22,431 households, and 16,191 families residing in the city. Of the 23,785 households, 55.1% had children living with them. The average household size was 2.54. North Port has five elementary schools, one public charter school, two middle schools, one high school and one college instructional facility. |
